Toolijooa's highly qualified teams provide a broad spectrum of services to effectively facilitate the restoration and rehabilitation of our natural areas.

Natural area management and restoration

Toolijooa has been managing and restoring indigenous vegetation communities throughout the Greater Sydney region since 1999. Our expertise draws from works at hundreds of sites in all of Sydney’s major indigenous vegetation communities, including extensive experience within the region’s Endangered Ecological Communities. Toolijooa's Bushland Regeneration teams provide comprehensive natural area management and restoration services across the full spectrum of site condition, from heavily degraded creek lines to high quality remnant vegetation.

Natural area rehabilitation and reconstruction

Toolijooa’s Special Projects division was formed to manage specialist and larger scale natural area rehabilitation and reconstruction projects that deviate from more traditional bush regeneration. These might include construction-type projects, natural area rehabilitations where higher levels of intervention are required or more specific / targeted bushland management works such as noxious weeds control. Our Special Projects team is led and coordinated by a dedicated Project Manager to ensure efficient resource allocation and delivery of quality services and outcomes. We allocate a specific Site Supervisor, whose knowledge and experience will best serve the site and works required, to each of our contracted sites for the duration of the contract. We prioritise retention of our supervisors on individual sites for longer-term, rolling and renewed contracts in order to maintain continuity of management and capitalise on their accumulated site knowledge.

Environmental services include

  • Bush Regeneration

    We provide extensive bush rehabilitation and restoration of our natural ecosystems. With teams based in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, The Hunter Region & Brisbane. Servicing all areas of the community - private, commercial and government.

  • Revegetation

    Toolijooa’s rich knowledge and experience with revegetation projects of over 100,000 plants, involves the management of all stages of seed collection, plant propagation, site reclamation, reconstruction and long term maintenance.

  • Track Construction

    Timber and stone track construction and maintenance including bridges, boardwalks and stairs. All our track construction works are undertaken in a manner sympathetic to the natural surrounds, with maximum benefit to the surrounding environment.

  • Weed Control

    We provide a comprehensive noxious weed control service with the targeted removal of a diverse range of noxious weed species and types. Including remote access work, boat access, high volume spraying and aerial spraying.

  • Creek-Line Rehabilitation

    Toolijooa undertakes all phases of riparian & civil drainage system rehabilitation including desilting, bank and channel reshaping, rock armouring and soil stabilisation, and revegetation works, including the ongoing and long term maintenance.

  • Rope Assisted Access

    Toolijooa’s rope access team hold Industrial Rope Access training & have experience in weed control upon steep slopes, cliff edges and cliff faces. The team also provides survey services for sites that require rope assisted access.

  • Soil Stabilisation

    Toolijooa provides soil stabilisation solutions to mitigate any erosion issues through the implementation of stabilisation techniques such as: silt fencing, wood and coir log terracing, jute meshing and matting, and mulching including hydro-mulch.

  • Mine Site Rehabilitation

    Our team provides complete consultation and implementation services for mine site rehabilitations. Minimising the environmental and ecological impact of this otherwise highly destructive localised disturbance event.
